TL;WR: I want a "fuck off" totem so a creature type leaves me alone.

I just started a new world with mistlands. I'm having a great time getting back into the swing of things and moving slowly at my own pace. I'm playing solo and like to max out my gear at every point before moving forward or expanding. Yes it's not efficient or fast but I find the "chore" loop pleasing.

That said, I would like to just peacefully mine my copper and drag it home. I'm happily pounding away at a copper vein and nothing is more irritating than silly growling and a fusillade of rocks that do less than 1 damage each while I'm just trying to get my shit done.

I apologize if this has been suggested before (or even if it's a mod), but I couldn't really think of a way to efficiently search for a suggestion, but I am up to my neck in greydwarves that are zero threat and only serve to disrupt my peaceful work. If I could have some way to keep them from approaching I think the grind would be a little more enjoyable.

I'm suggesting using a pile of trophies of a given creature to create a totem or structure that keeps that creature from coming within a given distance. I just wanna mine, not waste time (even if it's a little) swinging a single time per creature just to have another wave of them arrive before I even get back to my task at hand.

Yes I could wall off the copper vein but it's still an annoyance, and not always feasible. Even if it's like an entire stack of trophies – the item doesn't have to be "easy" to obtain – but something that gives you a pass for "I'm here to do a job, you are no threat, you won't die if you just leave me alone."

I'd even be fine if it only applied to the previous tier of materials/threats.

Has this been implemented in mods or suggested before? What do we think? It would also give you a use for the scads of trophies one accumulates over the course of a playthrough.

Am I the only one irritated by these mobs that won't learn a simple lesson?
