Valheim is great in that building a small wharf in either bay with a portal wouldn't be overly difficult or cost too many resources. On the other hand I'm strongly considering constructing a canal between the two bays so I can sail through it a handful of times. There's something about the terrain manipulation in this game that just makes construction projects so appealing. Just the fact that I 'can' do it is enough of a reason to give it a go. Wish me luck
Edit** as an aside, I think that Valheim has a decent balance of resource cost vs availability and time spent gathering resources. It's made me reconsider games like space engineers and project zomboid where I tend to up the difficulty to the point where the game no longer feels rewarding.
