Hi PMC's! Last week I've started my own Ammunition Chart, being personally dissatisfied with how "penetration focused" other charts were. As if it was the only meta!
Last wipe I had challenged myself to use 'cheaper ammo', without really altering my gameplay. I ended up having a very successful wipe and decided to push my test further, this time by testing ammo's and guns with 'science' in mind!
Note that I'm playing mostly high fire rate weapons such as the Mp7, P90, M4, HK 416, Mp5, Mpx, etc. If your meta is to aim for a 1-tap Headshot, high-penetration round with 35+ damages will be your BEST CHOICE. The way I've always played, I'm a mower. I'm emptying 20-30 rounds per target. I full auto and hold my trigger until my target is down.
After thousands of raids playing with various calibers and testing so many rounds, I've come to the conclusion: Players are avoiding 'well-modded guns' because they consider it a waste to play without good ammunition. Good ammunition for so many is one that has a high pen and cost 1k-2k roubles.
I myself had the mentality that 'good ammo's is key! everything else is secondary'. Truth is, a good gun and understanding the ammo you are using is key.
VIDEO FROM VERITAS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv02lcptroo&t=549s
In this video you can see him explain how his AS VAL using SP 5 is shredding a 6b43 Class 6 armor in seconds, killing the target as fast as the highest pen round for the same gun. The reason is simple: The armor gets destroyed and then takes damage as fast as the dude takes damage from penetrated rounds.
Note again, high fire rate, not aiming for the head.
In my ammunition chart, you'll find every information that are useful to 'how fast you can kill someone' except the ricochet chance, that I personally felt like it was cluttering the chart with something totally irrelevant.
CALIBER: The caliber of the ammunition.
NAME: The full name of the ammunition.
SPEED m/s: The speed of the ammunition.
DAMAGE: Flesh Damage when hit on unarmored target.
ARMOR %: The % of Flesh Damage that is applied to armor when hit on armored target.
FRAG: IMPORTANT Chance for the round to fragment on hit and cause 50% more damages. A bug supposedly stop round under 20 pen from fragmenting…
PEN: The penetration value of the round, higher is better. Highest is BOLD
Accuracy %: How much the ammunition affect the overall accuracy of your shot. In green is
positive, in red is negative
Recoil %: How much the ammunition affect the overall recoil of your shot. In green is positive, in red is negative
NOTE: Tracer, Subsonic, etc
I highly encourage you to try playing with rounds that sit in the middle of this chart, or that are Subsonic if you're suppressed!
You're playing in a Team and usually sits behind with a bad gun/bad ammo? Improve your gun and start laying cover with inexpensive ammo! Pin someone down for your team, it won't ruin you.
Good luck PMC's!
PS: There's a survey to fill to help improve the chart for a V2! It's 4 questions only!!! Also if you cared to vote, comment, and maybe sharing the post, your opinions are appreciated!
