Valheim gives the player the option to throw punches and even increase it as a skill. So why not add in another weapon?
I think it would be cool to add in leather wraps to tie around your hands for harder punches, then they turn into gauntlets at the bronze and iron upgrades.
This could also fall under blunt damage, since the only blunt weapons are clubs and maces and hammers, while there are a lot more pierce / stab / slash weapons in the game. Could add more variety into the mix.
This could also give the player a special move to use for punches. It could either be a barrage of fast jabs, or an AOE ground pound effect where the player slams both of his fists down to create some separation between him and the enemies.
For balancing, you could make it have less block force than the shields / bucklers, but make them more light weight. And slightly less blunt damage than maces / clubs, but also make them more lightweight.
Would anyone use these as weapons if the devs made them available? Or would you rather have gauntlets / leather / troll leather hand wraps for extra armor?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
