Apex gives you an opportunity to travel via so called taxi service. Need to check some stations for ammo/gear? Here we are. Need to go to the settlement for quick job? Here we go. Need to check something in person, but don't have time to fly there on your ship? Here it is. Sounds amazing! On paper.

It's nice and cozy when you need to go nowhere further than 100 ly. But that's ok, you think, it's reasonable, they don’t want to you to abuse the system.

Today I was in Ngugira and decided why not to check Ceos/Robigo and how is our beloved Robigo run going after Odyssey? After all it won't take a lot of time while I'm working, since I need to be present only to run to apex and back to dock, right? It's just a bit over 500ly.

I was in galactic map checking longest range possible and here is the first problem – there is no option on the map to highlight all systems that have Apex services. If you also need to sort out for specific systems you want to visit (I wanted also high population/boom/hightec to check for G3 gear while I'm at it) you have to click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click, until you found one. But that's ok, right? It's an expirience I'm after, since everything is so new. And I was fine for first 200ly till I hit artemis/col sectors. Because you know what? Second problem. You are in space there is no drop off points in next 300ly. I keep thinking that can't be it, some of these systems have to have Apex services, so I click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click (because, you know, there is no option to highlight systems with it) and after 10 minutes of clicking I called it a day.

Now I'm stuck, because I can't transfer ship to the outpost where I am and I only have the option to get back 100ly or so, get myself on the proper station, call my ship (for additional money) and fly to Ceos/Robigo "manually". So much for convenience!

So kids, Apex services are fine for local 100ly in habitable space. If you want serious travel ED devs are out and you have to do it yourself.
