I remember how Web3 gaming was a bright light throughout the most difficult period of the crypto winter. I discovered several excellent games at that time, which kept me motivated to remain with crypto even when things became bad. That might not be the case for much longer if interest in blockchain gaming continues to wane.
The number of active users for such games dropped 30% since October, crypto market researcher Messari said. I don't get why the number of new users dropped by 34%.
After an initial wave of simple “play-to-earn” games like Axie Infinity gained popularity during crypto’s bull run, a new class of more sophisticated games developed by seasoned developers has entered the market. One of the games I already wrote that I've found during crypto winter was CoinFantasy, I'm still so much into that game.
I believe that crypto enthusiasts continue to see blockchain gaming as a surefire way to eventually convince consumers to embrace web3, possess digital wallets, and own digital assets.
Well-funded game developers are generally optimistic about the months to come. So, I think that this is just a passing trend when it comes to these drops, I believe that people will be more engaged with blockchain games in the future. What do you think?
