CMDRs recently learned that an upcoming Community Goal would be based on tissue sampling from Thargoids. There were concerns previously reported bug affecting sampling rates would impact running the event and looks like the CG has been postponed by the technical glitch.
CMDRs seeking to create stockpiles of tissue samples should be aware of the recent announcement in the livestream… Thargoid materials collected so far will NOT help for the upcoming CG so CMDRs should avoid stockpiling.
