For many crypto supporters, one of the most obvious use cases for NFTs is video games. They facilitate a user-owned economy by allowing players to resell and potentially profit from digital assets, as well as the use of tokenized, interoperable assets across multiple games and virtual worlds.
Numerous traditional gamers have spoken out against companies like Ubisoft and Team17 as they have ventured into the NFT space, and many see the industry as a breeding ground for scams and speculation.
Do you think game publishers will simply use NFTs to extract even more value from players?
Obviously, it will take some time for gamers to accept NFTs; I understand NFTs and their role in games much better after using Altura as one of the platforms that allow you to include blockchain-backed assets in your applications without prior knowledge of the web 3.
Great games take a long time to develop; creating that much content requires vision, inspiration, and a significant amount of development time. I am confident that game developers will soon devise a great way to attract more gamers to blockchain gaming.
