Hello, it's been a long time since I've seen this info posted, but if you've stored your modules while you had a bounty, now see the legal issues tag, and can no longer equip it, most people will tell you that you're SOL and will have to pay the cleaning fee which may very well cost thousands to millions times more than the crime itself
This is absolutely not true, hot modules cannot be transferred to a clean ship, so simply do 3 things:
Obtain a bounty again (make sure you have ample empty slots for the modules to equip them later)
Outfit and equip your stored hot modules through the STORED MODULES tab, DO NOT try to equip a hot optional internal module through the optional internal tab, or a hot hardpoint through the harpoints tab, it will not work, and is why it seems this isn't very well known. DO find your module(s) through the STORED MODULES tab and transfer them to your hot ship
Finally wipe your bounty at an interstellar factor, these can easily be found on eddb.io, once you wipe your bounty any modules on board will lose their hot status
I did this just a little bit ago on an 8A Fuel Scoop, 8A Prismatic, and some other modules, the cleaning fees would've totalled around 140 million credits for my measly 100cr bounty, but I only payed 300cr and the fuel it cost to fly where I needed to get them clean again
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
