I noticed this morning there are new AMD drivers (22.8.2), these still have the same problem causing an Orange Sidewinder when approaching / landing on planets for 6000 series Radeon GPUs.
As far as I'm aware, these are our current options:
1) If you don't have any issues with performance in any games and are still running 22.5.1, don't update. If Elite is not your main game and are struggling with performance in other DX11 games, updating could be worth it.
2) If updated, roll back to 22.5.1 – Direct download link. You may need to run DDU to completely remove your current drivers before installing 22.5.1. If you don't see / need any improvements in other games then this is the best option for now.
3) Modify AppConfig.xml in the main 'elite-dangerous-odyssey-64' game folder, setting the "PermitNativeDoubles" line to False. This stops ED from crashing but will result in a blue circle and broken planet shader when landing on atmospherics – if you don't spend much time there it's the best workaround if you can't / don't want to downgrade.
4) Use DXVK – download from https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v1.10.3, extract and place dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll in the Elite Dangerous root folder 'elite-dangerous-odyssey-64'. This seems to work well but you'll be back to the orange HUD as you can't use it with EDHM (unless I'm missing something).
