Like many games today, Elite: Dangerous does not allow cross play between platforms. However, Elite has one quality that most of these multiplayer games do not: no platform has an advantage over another. This means that, due to controls being just as responsive on all platforms, the only reason to prevent this is political reasons. Microsoft has stated that they are fine with cross-platform play, even directly supporting it in their console's exclusives, but until recently Sony has refused to cooperate with Microsoft. Until recently. After the Nintendo Switch Fortnite controversy, Sony has opened the gates for cross-play, and now many players with friends on other platforms feel that they should be able to play together, so we are creating this petition to show the demand for it.
