Was running rescue missions for the new U14 content and realized that the amount of engineering materials offered as a reward doesn't necessarily correlate with the number of passengers to transport in one mission. Unlike credits which seem to be around 125,000 per person, I have seen as low as 8-person rescue missions offering 5 grade-5 engineering mats (the same amount that was also offered for some 80-person missions). In my case, running a Python with 136 passenger seats, I was able to get around 30 grade-5 mats per run from 5-7 different rescue missions, while still gaining several million credits. And since rescue missions allow you to use all available seats, you don't have to worry about sectioning off groups into different cabins and can instead shove them all in next to each other regardless of what mission they're from. Just thought this might be helpful info for those looking to gain some more mats while not having to resort to traditional grinding as well as participating in the new content.
(Just watch out for interdictions/hyperdictions; I've had some pretty close calls jumping into the thargoid-controlled systems.)
