On Wednesday, the team behind the blockchain game Splinterlands announced that it had reached a new milestone after the project sold more than 10 million packs of the Chaos Legion card series of the fantasy-themed battle game. The success follows the project's recent partnerships with the Major League Soccer Players Association and Warner Music Group.
The Splinterlands monetization game has sold over 10 million packs of NFT playing cards
Play-to-earn (P2E) blockchain game Splinterlands has announced that the project has sold more than 10 million packs coming from its third major card expansion series, Chaos Legion. Splinterlands is a game that uses cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to enhance online trading card tournaments.
As for me, I'm pleased to see quality projects like Splinterlands succeed and new ones like LifeBeyond build on that success, and what pleases me, even more, is to see some dirty money-grab projects go down.
Splinterlands cards or NFTs can be bought and sold through secondary markets, and new users must obtain a "Summoner's Spellbook" to begin playing. Chaos Legion cards went on sale eight months ago on January 17th, 2022, and only 15,000,000 packs were minted.
The Splinterlands Project says the limited availability of the cards after 10 million sold means the cards are in the "homestretch" in terms of what's left. Splinterlands co-founder and current CEO Jesse Reich said the team was pleased with the sales success of Chaos Legion, and the co-founder said the Splinterlands team is looking forward to further expansion.
