Quick update from the mod team

It's taken us a while but we finally feel like we're in a place to start adjusting some rules.

TL;DR
– Stricter enforcement of Rule 3
– Relaxing of Rule 8
– No megathreads this wipe (if it's a disaster we'll make one though but hopefully not)

With the posting of this thread we're going to start being a lot more strict in regards to Rule 3. Obviously we can't share the exact details as this will lead to people skirting the rules. Previously though we'd just gotten into the habit of deleting the comments of people arguing and moving on unless they were using slurs, other extreme insults or the large majority of their comments were abusive, going forward we're going to start adding user-notes to people we see being toxic or consistently argumentative and then issuing bans if we keep seeing their comments getting reported and breaking rules. We've definitely been far too passive in letting problem users consistently negatively impact this sub and are going to be a lot harsher with bans going forward.

We'd like to ask everyone to please report any toxicity or other forms of abusive comments you see, unfortunately we're only human, we do this in our spare time which means we can't read the thousands of comments this subreddit gets every day (and it will be double or triple that when the wipe happens) so we need you guys to help by reporting comments you feel break rule 3.

On to rule 8:
We will no longer be removing the following topics:
– To the guy / missed connection style threads
– Can it run / will my PC run tarkov style threads
– What items do I keep / sell style threads (provided they still follow the picture guidelines under rule 2)

Alongside this we will be trialling not making any megathreads for the upcoming wipe, we've seen all your complaints so we're going to see how the sub does when it's at its busiest, if it's a complete disaster we'll step in and make a megathread or remove the mass amounts of repeat posts
