If you go to Trophy Base, home of Tod "The Blaster" McQuin engineer in Wolf 397 (notably the first weapon engineer so he's kinda a big deal for new players), and land you will not be able to leave the planet. Trying to FSD out starts a count down that freezes up at 000.000 and your only option at that point is to force close the game.
Loading back in puts you back at Trophy Base (yes I replicated being unable to escape) leaving you with the only option to self destruct. Now I'm out 15k for the rebuy plus all the scan data from the like 15 systems I jumped through to get there. Rebuy respawns you at Trophy Base (lmao). Have to take the free Sidewinder to spawn off world and now I'm out the cost of the ship and the mods on it (admittedly not much, probably around 400k, but as a newer player I basically beggared myself to buy and outfit it).
That being said 10/10 I recommend a visit to Trophy Base to experience Tod McQuin's black hole of a planet
