No timeline yet, but I emailed FDev to get answers to some of the more speculative questions I’ve been hearing. Here are the takeaways:
If I started on PC after the first console announcement, what happens to my PC CMDR?
– You can replace the save for your PC CMDR with the clone of your console CMDR. Any purchases you’ve made with ARX on PC will merge with your ARX purchases from console. Alternatively, you can purchase a new copy of Elite on PC and move your cloned console CMDR there, if you wish to retain your PC CMDR’s progress. Finally, there will be a third option to just clone credits and cosmetics to an existing PC account.
Who gets a free copy of Elite on PC?
– People who own valid licenses on console will get free licenses for Horizons on PC. This means Xbox gamepass players (and whatever the PlayStation equivalent is) will NOT get a free copy for PC, and will have to purchase it. Note: HUGE Steam sale in the US now until May 31, Horizons is only $7 and Odyssey is only $22
Will CG modules, powerplay modules, and all engineered modules be cloned?
-Yes
These were all the answers I suspected, but now we have confirmation from Fdev! I hope this helps!
