AITA in this twine mission?

So I join this lvl 124 ride the lightning mission in progress as the 4th person tonight. As I am loading in I notice they don’t have a constructor and instead have a ninja, soldier, and outlander on the team. I check out the base and it only has T3 walls and no floor pieces or ceilings. I place my BASE down and then proceed to empty my inventory of random traps since I notice zero traps have been placed so far. The traps are an assortment and range from 77-102 in level. Fast forward a few minutes I’ve placed traps all around the van with about 15 traps in total, and my teammate playing the ninja starts to be very upset with me that I placed down lvl 77 traps for the mission. Imo it wasn’t a 4 player maxed difficulty mission so weapons alone with a BASED’d T3 wall would be enough but I just put traps down to at least have something for defense. Was I in the wrong for placing down low lvl traps I had lying around in my backpack, or was the ninja being over the top? He stated that no traps would be better than placing down 77’s which ig I took up space with them but like I said no one had trapped at all before i placed down.
