Annoyances. Where the game engine & game design doesn’t shine at all. What could be better?

Feel free to add yours. It's a brilliant game at times (as a FE:2/FFE vet, I was quite excited about a follow-up), but it has does have some serious issues. I'd like to make just a list please, discuss the issues in follow-up comments. If anybody wonders why, it's exactly why there such a number of new players (going free). Who might have different expectations, either coming from old FE:2/FFE players, or totally new ones. The E:D community has been most helpful so far (thank you!), so please let's try keeping it civil – I'll try as well!

  1. "Turn off outfitting animations" option. I don't really need to see that 1F Pulse Laser getting removed animation for a hundreds time. Best would be just turn off animations globally.
  2. Sound options – turn off sound effects selectively (IIRC F:E2 had it) – from keyboard beeps to FSD sound effects. Especially since all the voice effects are configurable, but sound effects aren't. No need to hear that stupid FSD sound hundred times, but turning off sounds turns completely turns off helpful hints like lasers hitting your ship…
  3. Transition animations – turn them off option. They are completely inconsistent anyway. Try docking and:

A – hit hangar button first, then missions – while you read all the missions offered, your ship silently docks inside hangar and multitasking works.

B – hit missions or anything else first – while your ships docks with the very same animation as before, you are locked out of any interaction. You have to wait till it docks, even if you hadn't in situation A. Multitasking doesn't work.
