The scammer created this reddit post here:
and was asking for a trade of collector cache I items. (Edit: that post has now been deleted by him because he is trying to remove evidence).
I trusted him, because there is no other way to trade cache sets, someone has to trust and go first. So I offered to go first and trusted him. After taking my items, he unfriended me and disappeared. So basically, he owes me the Primal Beast very rare set from collector's cache, and he has now disappeared.
I messaged him on reddit but he did not respond.
Left with no choice, I messaged him on reddit again threatening to report his reddit and steam account (his steam profile).
The moment I threatened to report him, he suddenly responded. He made up some story about how he was scammed and now he doesn't have the primal beast set to gift to me anymore. What a coincidence!
I asked what other items he could offer in exchange. He said he has no items of value.
I looked at his inventory and I said, in the spirit of Christmas, I was willing to let the matter rest if he could trade me USD$2-3 worth of his items. Although obviously worth less than the Primal Beast set he owes me, I was willing to let it go at that.
But the moment I sent the trade offer, he unfriended me again and blocked me on steam and stopped replying on reddit! So he wasn't even willing to make amends with USD$2 worth of items and it's really kinda obvious it's a scam.
I HAVE ALL THE REDDIT CONVERSATION SCREENSHOTS WITH HIM AS PROOF
This guy is such a scum, after friending him on steam, I even played diretide games with him, and trusted him completely and talked to him like a friend and invited him to games etc, and this is what I get in return.
Yea I was dumb to trust him. For those of you trading cache sets you have no choice but to trust, so be careful who you trade with.
