So there I was, an empire pilot smoking the halfing leaf, mining Bromellite deep in enemy territory called Rhea. I'm looking to unlock another engineer so I have time to think. I'm watching my limpets collect what I'm mining, dying occasionally as limpets tend to do, when I think to myself, this would be a good job for AI copilots. They could use a little loader ship to fetch cores and bits lasered off to their max capacity then return it to the ship to refine then go out for the next load.
This would add another use for the AI pilots besides just combat and they should gather in a much more intelligent way so you're not wasting money or resources buying or building limpets. The trade off would be their % cut of your load so it doesn't throw game economy out of whack by removing a cost to pilots which would increase their disposable wealth. This could also speed up mining, but not by a ridiculous amount.
