Back from the Black

o7 Commanders

I just saw the news about the war at home. I 'm an old dog that has been on hiatus for a few years and up until the last few days I was out in the black in the my Asp Explorer. I'm still a few hundred light years from the bubble but managed to turn in all my exploration data and got between 400-500 million credits. I know a lot has changed since I left so I wanted to get a plan together before I walked back into the firestorm.

Thank you all for the information I've seen circulated thus far. It's a huge help when you've been out of the loop as long as I have. I'm trying to absorb as much as possible as quickly as I can but I still would love any and all input.

Simply put, I'd like to get into the fight and help out. My strengths are probably supply or rescue. I've been almost entirely solo but I'm not opposed to open either. I'm not afraid to fight I'm just verrrrrrrrry rusty and even then I was more the "Hull tank and Bang" vs nimble fighter. I've always had my eye on an Anaconda or Type 9 (or maybe an Imperial Cutter if the grind is better than it used to be) since before I left. I'm not sure if those are still the pinnacle of Jack of All Trades / Hauler or not. I know eventually we'll boot the fargin iceholes out so I would like to be able to use my new ship to pivot back to exploration or mining once it is all over. I'm planning on keeping my Asp and keeping enough back to cover rebuys since I know it's going to be a rough reintroduction to civilization no matter what.

I don't think I ever did any of the engineer or guardian grinds other than maybe the initial introductions before I headed out. I'm not opposed to putting the work in for the feds or imperials either if the Corvette or Cutter is that much better. I've been trying to catch up on all the changes but I'm just curious if there are any recommendations or opinions for an old half space crazed dog that's looking to do his part.

PS: I sold my free Anaconda from Hutton years ago. Wall to wall shag carpeting sounds great until you have to clean it. Kept the mug though.
