This is probably the only game I've purchased with minimal research. The first description/video demo I saw of it, and I knew it was my kind of game.
I love the massive scale and how you can choose your profession. I recently purchased a Viper + kill warrant scanner + moar gunzzz after slaving away as a trader in my 6 cargo limit Sidewinder.
Currently I call Eravate home as it's independent and I don't really care about getting a wanted status there. I just chill by the nav beacon, taking in the sights until some poor sucker with a bounty comes through. Like shooting fish in a barrel.
…or so I thought. I got cocky after nabbing a $50k bounty right away and went after a wing with 4 ships (2 cobra, 2 sidewinder). BIG mistake. I am a pilot in real life and have been playing flight sims forever so I feel I'm decent behind the controls, but that was just a flat out mistake to take them on. Full power to engines, boost activated, hardpoints in, charge the FSD…squeeked out with 25% hull remaining.
…no game has ever made me verbally yell "SHITSHITSHITSHIT" and laugh while doing it.
I found my new profession.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
