It feels like defending teams end up swinging games entirely or just overly extending games when defending highground with buybacks.
I've seen plenty of pro games as well as pubs where a team that has played like ass in the earlier parts of the game just doesn't seem like they get punished anymore. I don't know if highground is too hard to take right now, or if its the buybacks causing the issues, or maybe there's just too much gold on the map now or something else entirely.
I think games would benefit a lot if buybacks were limited to something like 2 times per player. This would make it so that buybacks are actually more strategic and significant as you just can't wait out the timer for the next time.
It would make games feel better for teams that perform well early on in the game, but still allow for teams on the backfoot to have comeback potential off of highground defense. It would also stop games from being extended 20+ minutes because everyone is too scared of fighting without buybacks.
I'm no game dev though. What are other ways that things could be tweaked to make it feel better? Is a simple cost increase all that is needed, or am I crazy and everyone enjoys the amount of buybacks these days?
