Can we discuss Prophet?

witcher gwent cards

Sup Gwent fam,

Been a while since I created one of these type of discussion posts. So I was away from the game and the community for a while dealing with work, family obligations but recently returned to the game to see the Lost Treasures card drops.

Now when I saw Prophet, I have to admit that I was immediately excited. I was like here is an interesting card to add to my deck but this excitement was short lived after playing with the card in game. The disappointment kind of forced me to go back to the reveal post to see how the community felt about the card at the announcement phase.

Now, let me say that I don't think Prophet is a bad card. It is definitely a strong counter card that played in the right scenario, can temporarily interrupt combos. The adrenaline tag also adds a degree of balance to the ability to prevent the card from having a Lockdown type feel. However, I can't help but feel that the card is a bit expensive for its ability, although this could be just me relearning what card abilities should cost.

So the point of this post is more researching and discussion to get the general perception regarding the card. Now that Prophet was in the hands of the masses, do you play it when you play NG? Do you feel the card is accurately costed? I am not going to ask about strengthening the ability. I will admit that I have theory crafted and while I don't mind one for discussion purposes only, I think we will find that improving the ability will have adverse effects on the player experience, since depending on the change there maybe a way to manipulate the effect.

TLDR: Just getting back to Gwent and wanted to discuss the general perception of the Prophet card with the community. What are your general thoughts of the card and do you use it?
