Dealing with unwinnable games

Hi guys,

I'm new to reddit but very old to dota 2. After 15000 hours of playing this game, I've got most of the game mechanics learnt.

Now the only things that I fail to grasp are related to more psychological aspects of the game. Like why communication in the game is so important, how being proactive to team fights or ganks can be rewarding and how to deal with unwinnable games (either due to a draft fault but mostly due to 5 random players that can not get along or do not want to play in coordination).

I would like to know how you guys deal with these games. Can 1 player be so good that he can solo win the game? even at very high skill games? Are you just supposed to afk in these games? What if you get the same ill coordinated teammates multiple games, are you supposed to just lose all of them? How can you rank up if this keeps happening?

Thanks for reading the post.
