I've held off on getting this "add-on" until now. Seeing a deal for buying it for $10. Figured that was a lot better than the $40 asking price. And I'm still feeling like I got ripped off. Granted, maybe some of it will come with more practice, but I just got done with my first few hours and I'm just feeling really frustrated.
It feels like most of the on foot stuff wants me to be a criminal. For my first mission I didn't want to be a criminal, so I managed to find a 'legit' mission. But while at the base to pick up the item I needed for the quest I accidentally pulled out a weapon, couldn't figure out how to put it away or surrender peacefully and got KO'd.
Second mission I'm trying to gain access to somewhere to take out a target and I couldn't figure out how to drop a scanned ID, security stopped me and then took me out for having the ID.
After looking up how to drop the IDs I figure I'll give it one more try. This time it's for a non-violent heist. I successfully get into the right building using cloned IDs. I had learned that the technicians inside don't "recognize" that you're an intruder, even if you drop your ID or enter without one with the hacking method. But in this case I had a level 2 ID which was needed to open a container with my quest item. Yet when I activated they container the techs started shooting at me…
How was I supposed to know that they don't care if I, a stranger, am wandering around in a building without clearance but that trying to access something that requires a clearance level that I currently have will trigger them?
It's the lack of clarity on mechanics that's annoying me. And I know that those things can be learned. But as long as it takes to just respawn and fly around and get a new mission and then fly to the target area… It's like I spend 95% of my time just getting from place to place. And then when I actually get to start the mission I'm barely into it before doing something that triggers the base to attack me en masse and I get sent back to a prison ship when I'm KO'd.
And on top of that I can't seem to pay off the fines I have in the system so I'm stuck in the anonymous protocol mode on the station. One screen telling me I have no fines, another one saying I do and to talk to a contact to pay them, but that contact is the one saying I have no fines…
