I've played Valheim for over 300hrs, and I've been absolutely loving this game. But let's be honest, this game have been a disapointment in terms of updates and extra content since launch. Luckily there are some mods that can breathe new life into the game.
Pretty much the only mod I've ended up using is "Valheim plus". I've used the same character for a while, added a lot of QoL adjustments but I've not configured elements which I consider "cheating" (ie. teleport with ores, increase resources from mining and woodcutting and increase xp gains etc.). I have however increased farming output and I've removed the death penalty because I found it more annoying than challenging, I also aim to max all skills. But most importantly, I've increased monster damage and health drastically my most recent run. Now I actually have to grind out every tier of armor and upgrade it to stand a chance. I have to play safe and smart and most monsters higher than lvl 1 skeletons have the ability to one shot me when I first enter their territory.
For me it made the game really challenging again and forced me to play smarter, like grinding for the best available food, potions and gear. In the vanilla I came to the point where I only ever crafted the club, bronze mace and bows to complete the game. I skipped 2 tiers of armor and didn't touch 90% of the gear in the game.
Just wanted to share if anyone else had stagnated hard like I had. Building was only fun for so long for me.
