I'm star hopping to a distant system using a manual route to maximize scanning opportunities, and scanning/FSS new systems along the way. I have no cargo and no active missions, just pure exploration.
I pull up in a system, honk it, then FSS if it's unexplored (and maybe DSS if worth it). But if I get interdicted while in the middle of FSS, it screws up my process. The interdictors move on because I have no cargo, but I'm no longer in SC and thus can't FSS. When I try to go back into SC, it won't let me without "aligning to target" (my next system on my route). But if I do that, it will force me on to the next system without letting me finish my FSS.
So far the only workaround I have found is to manually clear my entire planned route, FSS the current system, then go back and manually recreate the route again. This is a major PITA when it happens every other system.
Is there no way to get into SC mode without having to jump to your next system on your route?
