Its something ive never truly understood. Imo capital ships should be something feared by all but the most capable commanders and its federal counterpart the farragut class seems to do an alright job at this (maybe the max engineered ships give it trouble but for the most part it does its job). On the other hand im amazed if theres ever been an instance where the majestic class has dropped a ship to less than 50% let alone get a kill. Seriously the heavy rail drivers look like they deal less damage than a single small multicannon round and dont even get me started on the interceptor cannons. Im pretty sure i could punch a ship to death quicker than a majestic class could kill it
If there was ever a single thing i would want from fdev before they drop this game it would be to see this thing deal justic as the pride and joy of the empire. Honestly some of the most fun ive had in elite was watching the farragut class drop into a conflict zone to wreck anything not allied to it. Meanwhile the majestic sits there dealing a pittance in damage and then sitting idle as everyones moved away from it.
Ik in elites current state there are many things that could be prioritised over adjusting a capital ship but its really only a matter of adjusting numbers to make it stronger.
Does anyone else think the same as me?
