lion pickers have no brain

this is a complaint post, but not about not battle pass hats or ded game. its about lion pickers. lion is a fun and balanced hero, but lion pickers are some of the most braindead people playing this game. sure there's other heroes with notorious fans such as superiority complex skywraths who think they are god because they can solo any hero from 10 to 20 minutes, or pudge pickers with antisocial personality disorder. however, i dont complain about them because if they werent sitting on their ass playing dota they'd probably be shooting their school or something. dota is like a safe containment zone for them.

no, it's lion pickers that i've come to complain about, because i have a small glimmer, a tiny shard of hope that i can reach some of you. you see, the problem is that lion pickers get so set in their ways, so used to doing things a certain way, that they are negatively impacting their gameplay and contribution to the team. i dont even think they've realized it. so i hope i can reach these people, stop them from being a mindless automaton and actually think about their spells and their heroes.

i'll give you a typical lion contribution to a teamfight. I'm legion, i've been harassing a ursa in lane, but he doesn't care because he's ursa, he's still getting his farm. however, here comes lion from the fog with an earth spike. we're in the middle of the creep wave. i can duel the ursa and win! this is a great contribution! so what's the problem??

The problem is this is a lion picker, and the lion picker does not think. the lion picker will always hit earth spike, run up a little, use hex, do mana drain, channel until the hex runs out, then finger. they will never deviate from this. it doesn't matter that the enemy team is TP'ing to save their ally and the hex should be saved for some other enemy, that the silencer is noticing the fight and will do the mega skilled action of finding the R key on their keyboard. it doesn't matter. lion must do his full combo.

i CANNOT TELL YOU. how often im in coms just begging the lion "HOLY FUCK JUST FINGER HIM, PLEASE!!!"This is ESPECIALLY when I'm legion, cause often duel will run out before I get my damage. Lion, there is a THREE SECOND grace period on finger. 3 secs is an eternity in dota. just fucking finger the guy, PLEASE. I cannot tell you how often a lion, in waiting for his finger to be the last hit, will give the enemy enough time to use slark ult, lion enrange, DB ult to come in, any number of saves really.

Lion pickers, PLEASE think about your abilities and cooldowns. I'll give you a rundown of why you should deviate from your Q, R, Eeeeeeeeeee R faceroll:

• When there's a mobile hero like puck on the enemy team who may want to jump in and disrupt the gank, it's GOOD to have hex saved instead of throwing it on a hero that we're already gangbanging/disabling.
• when they have heroes that can blast your little lion ass in an instant, maybe DONT sit there broadcasting your position with mana drain the whole team fight. maybe instead you can play in and out of the trees, constantly disappearing to fog as you emerge only to throw out yet another disable. maybe DONT stand right on top of your teammates, giving the enemy centaur a 3 man stun.
• use finger as soon as you can tell the team needs the damage to secure a kill. dont worry, if they weren't gonna die within 3 secs of you fingering, they weren't gonna die anyway
• don't hex the guy that legion blademailed dueled. legion wants to be hit. please done do that.

ok so there it is. my complaint mostly over. just put a thought into your spells and positioning please. stop just running up to the enemy heroes and doing the same combo. when you disable an enemy, you're basically guaranteeing that your carry/mid/offlaner are gonna run up to try and clap those cheeks. so if you're also standing there, fervently sucking mana like an over eager Elon fan sucking him off on twitter, you're basically ENSURING that the enemy counterinitation will nab you along with your cores. play safer, stay back. watch for other heroes coming in.

TLDR STOP JUST HITTING Q, W, channel EEEEeeeeee, R. Put thought into using your spells!

I didn't really complain about the lion who comes to lane with no tangos, boots and clarities, basically telling me that all he's gonna do is throw spells sometimes and never trade. who then just rushes aghs, not even blink 🙁 Iono if those guys can be helped. They are those people who don't realize that "40% of the time, it works every time" means that you will have a 40% win rate and you will be destined for Herald for the rest of your days. let me just say that when you win those games, you were going to win anyway, because your team was still managing to win with a lion that only has brown boots and a staff of wizadry. and when you lose, you lose with a lion with 3k out of his 5k NW just giving him useless stats when he could have had a force staff or glimmer. they'll never learn because when they win, they feel awesome.
