I have not found or seen any posts about it yet but the formula to calculate the explosion damage amount for Critical Hits with this weapon cause an explosion, damaging enemies within .5 tiles for 43 base damage maybe the following:
Base * Hero Ability Damage Percentage / 100 * FORT stuffs (explained below) * Weapon and Hero stuffs (explained below)
Base: 43
Hero Ability Damage Percentage / 100 – look in game (on PC go to Command – see all stats)
Fort stuffs :
The sum of Offense and Tech divided by 100 + the sum of any Melee or Ability Damage survivors sets. If you have one set that is providing 5% that's .05
Or
1 + The sum of Offense and Tech divided by 100 + the sum of any Melee or Ability Damage survivors sets. If you have one set that is providing 5% that's .05
Weapon stuffs:
The sum of any Weapon Fixed Perk, Elemental Damage and Hero Perk Damage. If you have an Armaggeddon Axe with a Legendary Damage Perk and a Legendary Energy Perk that's .3 + .2.
The mathematical formula though could be either of the following:

How did I get these numbers? I ran through a battery of validation tests to determine what variables could affect the explosion damage number.

Unfortunately without an official word from Epic, it is still unknown which (if either of these) is correct so use at your own discretion.
