more pl 144 5 star traps in his backpack than the account I have been playing for 3 years. An order of magnitude more. It's nuts.
On the bright side Plankerton was a lot more laid back than Stonewood, but that's probably because I ran most of the Plankerton quests in Ventures, where nobody can trade. For some reason the main quests (Save the World) are a little wonky in Ventures, so I did have to run some in Plankerton. (I think there is a cap on the power level of the mission you are in relative to the level of the main quest you are running, seemed like I had to go to lower level Ventures missions to get my quest markers to show up. Also the explore missions just were not working in Ventures, which I guess makes sense) Nobody boxed me in. I did get chased and shot at or pickaxed repeatedly, which I think is video game sign language for "trade with me'. They went away after a while.
Along the way other players have dropped enough PL 130+ weapons that I can probably make it to mid-Twine without crafting a weapon. I even have my very own "nature jack-o", given to me by some wonderful kid (for free) who then berated me for firing it. Apparently some weapons are not to be fired. Ever…
I managed to complete Stonewood Endurance at PL 20-something with a bunch of (SELF-CRAFTED) not perked blue and purple traps. (not AFK and I failed it 3 times getting the build right, but… this unlocked 3rd tier evolutions instead of having to get to Canny. Might have something to do with getting to power level 90+ in Ventures, or both? dunno) I did get lucky and score legendary floor spikes and legendary ceiling electric field schematics. For the most part it has been pretty fun leveling up another account. The story is fun and the special missions are great to repeat. I had a full group in public for Vinderman's Mansion and The Battle for Plankerton. I think I started Save the World about 6 months after it released and I had to solo one of those, and had to duo the other… after failing them repeatedly. Crazy amount of new players running around, which is awesome. The only groups I haven't had a full ontourage for so far were some of my SSDs that I did at 3 a.m. U.S. time. Apparently some of you sleep at night.
I gotta say the game moves a lot faster progression-wise than it did back in the day. Phew. Looking forward to Canny.
