Ok, so today I spent a long time grinding empire ranks to get high enough for the cutter, I'm not new to the game but I don't play much so I'm still ameteur really in terms of skill and knowledge. I bought the cutter after selling my very cool python and my type 9 that I used to get a tonne of cash. Now I have a cutter worth around 320mil it says, which is strange considering i bought it for 210mil and also have an 8a powerplant which is like 150 or so. So I have a ship worth about 300 – 350 mil and about 40 mil in the bank. The ships repair cost is 17 mil already (ouch). Ive tried it out for pve and it turns like a bus, and to be honest I had more fun using the fighters I brought with it. I was planning to do some grinding to get prismatic shields but after seeing the price tag for class 8 prismatics I changed my mind (260 mil is more than the ship :0So my question really is what is the best thing to do now. I've unlocked the guardian fsd booster and I have tier 1 mods for the fsd, power plant and shield boosters but I can't afford a good cutter and I dont have enough power generation for a good anaconda. I really hated getting materials for the mods and I also really hate mining although it would probably be bearable if i figured out how to make a lot of money from it, my method of money making was just using the type 9 and r/EliteCarriers and ferrying 750 goods at a time and making about 10 mil every run. It was boring but it was simple and effective, and also pretty a fast wasy of making cash for such little effort. Also people have said the cutter turns like a whale, and the corvette is much better for pve and anaconda, but the only problem is I'm still very low in federation rank and as far as I know there is no quick way to rank up federation rank like there is with the empire in ngalinn. At the moment in the cutter I've killed some guys at nav beacons and I've ferried cargo from a to b making a bit of cash, but have no experience in it otherwise. So what would be the best next step.
