Change position and rotate every time you shoot, miss and the enemy disappears / goes behind cover.
90% of the time when you engage and not kill the other players they will figure out where you are. I have 1000 hours in tarkov and win the majority of my fights. Pretty much most fights are an easy win, because the other player just remain in the area where they were already shooting me from, making it incredibly easy to find an advantage point to take them out.
Vice versa, I win many fights where I engage, then rotate somewhere else to which the other player rushes where I was, not knowing I've rotated allowing me an easy kill.
This game weighs heavily on dysnc (sadly), you can vastly eliminate this by moving location after every engagement, especially group fights.
Another cheeky tip, if you find your self in a hall way or room or any other tight spot where the fight revolves around tap fire around corners. A lot of players, like me all share a simple ADHD problem where if we shoot 1, 2, 3 or 4 bullets out of our 30 round mag, we subconsciously reload our gun. If you can, taunt the other player to shoot and use ammo, then listen out really carefully for the reload and rush'em.
