No-metal play through. First half done. The hard part to go.

I’ve started a play through with the following rules:

Solo. New character. New random seed. No mods. No cheats. No looking up the map.

No metal use of any kind. Can’t smelt metal, can’t make anything from metal, can’t use anything made of metal (even iron head arrows found in a chest)

I dunno what the swamp key is made of? Im assuming it’s stone

Coins are metal. No trader items allowed. No fishing rod /cry. Weight has never been an issue, due to no metal mining.

No taming animals.

No building new structures, can only repair existing ones.

Some of the implications are no cooked foods (as no cauldron) other than meat. No potions. Even wood/chitin/ leather stuff is restricted by a workbench that maxes at 3 (higher upgrades need metal)

I guess I’m halfway in, but it was the easy half. Ethikyr and elder dead, bonemass located and withered bones farmed. No deaths yet, but some close calls.

My gear is about as high as it can go: Fine wood bow 3, abyssal razor 2, flint axe 2, club 3, stagbreaker 2, troll hide armour level 1.

Sailing everywhere on the raft is slow as. I only cross to new islands departing in early morning to avoid the night, and serpent attacks.

Im kinda stuck on what to do next. I don’t want to cheese bonemass by getting up high and plinking him with 300 arrows. Killing him with a wooden club or kiting him without a poison resist potion and low health might be doable, but would need to be mistake free.

To increase my health I need cooked lox meat and/or cooked serpent meat. I reckon I can survive the plains long enough to kite a lox into an easier biome and kill it.

Has anyone successfully hunted sea serpents from a raft without a high end bow/arrows?

Then I need to survive the mountains without frost resist.
