I've played Valheim for over 300 hours and I do think the raids need some rethinking. I'm sure this isn't the first post like this but I digress.
As I'm sure most here know, the most efficient way to prepare against raids is raising land and possibly adding a moat. This is resource intensive, time consuming, and doesn't always look great.
These are considerations without one more valuable than the other and they can be mixed:
1a. Maybe it would benefit to make stake walls/stake spikes more sturdy/useful, thus relying on them more and making them more efficient than land.
1b. Maybe something akin to the ward that wards off damage by taking damage on to itself. Makes it easier to repair singular things than whole long spaning walls.
I haven't experienced the ballistas yet but I've heard they are only so useful. Maybe those could be made more useful for the Mistland enemies.
It might help to balance what kind of raids happen where. I.E. If a raid happens in the meadow, the highest level raids stop at Trolls.
Raid power increases based on how many building pieces are used.
Any other ideas are appreciated.
