Remote flak – What am I doing wrong?

Straight up, guys. I f****ng suck at Thargoid combat. Been fighting them since inception. I probably wasted 750,000,000, in rebuys, for my Cutter, back when I felt out Cyclops combat, in 2018. It seems like I’m 2017 I was just too intimidated to try. Fast forward and I can now down them in a Krait that oddly I’ve built to have more raw HP than my Cutter did back when I first began trying. I think my Cutter, back the , was mostly shields and about 3500 hull. Now I’m in a bi-weave Krait with almost 4600 hull. But I still only survive with 45-65 health, most NHSS 5s featuring a Cyclops… And it’s because of the damn remote flak. And also the reason I can’t graduate to Basilisks without having to low wake at 26% health and the Basilisk on its EMP (roughly three hearts down) phase.

So as soon as I destroy the first heart, I boost and assistance off, turn around, and literally dump an entire remote flak clip into the first swarm and still none of them are destroyed. I wait for the usual “tick, tick, tick, tick-tick-tick-tick-tick…beep!” Chime, when the reticle flashes a solid ring and release…nothing. Eventually, if I haven’t run out of remote flak, they literally just turn around in boredom and then the ceptor is like “I got this joker just hang back little guys…” as the super embarrassed commander, who can’t aim, continues drifting backwards, at a now depreciated rate of like 325 M/s. So, I’ve basically just stuck to a policy of dodging and evading swarm and just focusing on the Cyclopses, since this inability of mine excludes me from Basilisks.

I watch Youtube videos of folks making short work of these swarms, with ease and I don’t see what they are doing differently. They too, get the “tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick…beep!” As I do, prior to release. Sometimes I even get a strange multi-beep chime but I can’t always replicate it and I don’t see anyone else on YouTube getting this either, when I watch their videos. But I can only explain the phenomenon as the usual “tick-tick-tick-tick tick-tick….beep….beep-beep-beep-beep-beep!” And in that time the reticle flashes a solid ring multiple times.
