I started playing in 2018, have more than 5k hours in-game, and have had great gaming memories with Tarkov. One of my favorite games of all time.
If you think about the lifecycle of most games, 7 years is a very mature point in the life cycle. Now, i realize it's technically still in "beta", which is hilarious, but Tarkov has had ups, downs, long periods of inactivity, huge content updates, big twitch events, and probably hundreds of thousands of unique players over a 7 year period. Truly more than most games can ever ask for.
Unfortunately, the devs have consistently and repeatedly shown a complete disregard for the voice of the community. They had arbitrarily made the game "harder" with ridiculous recoil, stamina, and loot changes that only detract from the enjoy-ability of the game. At the same time, they have profited off cheaters massively for years while lying and pretending to care about the damage they cause.
It is quite obvious based on the latest responses, and the pattern of inactivity over the last 2 years, that the devs intend to allow this to continue and that Tarkov will never return to its golden age. There's no coming back – and that's ok. Tarkov will fade away gradually and die a slow death, but I would suggest that this is normal and natural at this very late point in its life cycle. Godspeed tarkov, and thanks for the memories.
