One place where BSG really shines is their map design. Their maps are always highly detailed with tons of assets that feel very immersive. Couple that with interesting landmarks and hot spots that make great areas for PVP, and lots of different pathing, each map can be really interesting. They take forever to come out but they’re always unique and feel well thought out.
Here are the in game descriptions:
TOWN – The Verkhneye urban settlement is a small town by the seaside, favoured by locals as an exceptional gardening and outdoor recreation spot.
SUBURBS – The suburb and commuter areas of Tarkov containing all the infrastructure and creature comforts needed for a long and happy life.
TERMINAL – A large section of the harbour zone, rumoured to be the back up EMERCOM extract point.
Do you imagine any of these maps in any sort of way?
I kind of hope Town will be a bit of a smaller map.. like Factory or Labs are small, yet still a bit bigger, outdoors, and with more verticality. Lots of smaller houses and cover in a more green environment. Other than what I hope it’ll be like I have no idea what it could be.
I imagine Suburbs as nice houses with wide streets, strip malls and shopping areas, a school, bus stations and train stations, a grocery store.. this map will probably be fucking huge.
Terminal I could only imagine has to be pretty big. I picture it with shipping containers and heavy machinery everywhere, a giant boat you can spend the whole raid in alongside an even bigger port with lots of stations and buildings. Probably fucking littered with Rogues blacking out both your arms from a mile away up on a crane
