I don't know if other countries have this problem that when you want to participate in the DPC region that best suits your ping, surprisingly you are not part of the countries that are allowed to play in that region, because of this my team and I feel that we're missing out on the experience of at least trying to get into the open qualifiers for DPC.
I live in Colombia and I have 180 ping on the server that Valve designated (Argentina) for my region (South America). I have tried to participate with players from my country but playing with 180ms is a big disadvantage when all the other teams play with 30-60ms. The region that best suits our ping is North America (80 ms), however to participate we need at least 3 players from that region, it seems unfair not to be able to create a stack of 5 or 4 players from the same country, as well as several teams (Team Liquid, Beastcoast, Fnatic) for the simple fact that we can't play in the better region for us.
I tried to write to Valve about this case and their response was “You can share your feedback on Dota community sites. The Dota team reads these various social channels as it helps them understand and prioritize what issues are most important to the community.” so there is nothing left to ask: Will we be the only country in the world with such bad luck? XD
