Is what I have heard over and over from people on this subreddit and the internet at large.
The idea that if you can't devote a large amount of time to the game everyday then you can't succeed in the game.
This is false, I myself am what most would call a casual player, I barely can play 1 hour a night during the week as I have work and a family. On weekends I might be lucky to play 3 or 4 hours a day. Even still I have been able to get to level 42, max out my hideout and accumulate a comfortable level of wealth to basically purchase any kit I desire. I achieved this by simply doing my tasks and playing smart by avoiding un necessary engagements and using cost effective loadouts. I never hatchet run or do anything else cheesy to get gear. I simply take the initiative and optimize my raid times, I also utilize barter trades and the flea market to make money effectively instead of selling to traders always.
So basically what I'm trying to say is that if your new and you feel like the game is stomping you, dont feel discouraged. This is the experience for everyone at first and if you dont have a lot of time to play just set goals for every time you can play and keep making progress.
When your not able to play try to acquire knowledge by looking up guides or reading the wiki. Look at maps to see where loot spawns, check prices on the flea market before you sell to traders. All these things add up and can help you immensly.
