The downsides to smurfing

So, I'm going to start by saying that I am a (legitimate, no dashboarding) diamond player. I understand how bad sbmm is. I understand how little fun it is being constantly killed by three stack preds. That being said, smurfing has got to stop.

Sbmm isn't fun. Anyone who's decent knows this. But smurfing is not going to help. It's actually hurting the game more than sbmm is. To start, it's hypocritical. The entire narrative is basically "hey, my game isn't fun, so let me go make everyone else's lives miserable in order to make myself feel better". It's selfish and wrong, and that's all there is to it.

On top of that, if apex is dieing for my reason, it's smurfing. You guys are killing the playerbase far more than sbmm. Sbmm makes life miserable for, at best, the top 30%. People capable of a k/d of 1.0 or higher (a small number, mostly cause it's a br, so luck is involved). Smurfing hurts all the other 70%, and it does so by forcing them to fell exactly what you were annoyed at the devs doing to you. Your literally doing exactly what your annoyed at being done to you.

And for those claiming that the devs have to do something, they really don't. The game is designed to be fun for everyone, so if your not having fun and you leave, that hurts them far more than you smurfing. Smurfing counts as more players for them, so by their logic it's a good thing. You might even be causing it to continue to be a thing.

Now, another narrative I've heard is that it's "bad player protection". Yes, yes it is. Not everyone has the reaction times to play even gold level. Some people are crippled, disabled, hard of hearing, have slow reacting time, etc. All of those people would not be able to have any fun playing with you, and so sbmm helps them. this idea that "if they can't learn, they should go play another game" is stupid. By that logic, sbmm forcing you to fight preds is a great idea, it's forcing you to learn, and if you don't like that you should go play another game.

And finally, this idea that sbmm can't be fixed is stupid. All these people complaining that sbmm has to be removed, and that it can't possible work ever, are wrong. It's a good idea, but like any good idea, it will take time and effort to work properly.

As a side note, why is it fun to Smurf? All your doing is playing people with no skill, the people who are seperates from you for a reason. What satisfaction do you get from beating up disabled people, knowing that you and your colleagues are systematically ruining peoples experiences all for stats you can't even display?
