As many know, gear has turn speed modifiers. The guys like me that run 1m kits every raid exclusively, with no scav raids, know how to offset turn speed. I think it should be removed from the game becuase its a simple knowledge gate. Here is how to avoid it though.
First of all, you need to know what your desired turn speed in tarkov is. To do this, unequip armour and helmets, adjust your turn speed until you find something satisfying (or use the DPI numbers you use if you know them from other games, then skip this step.) Plug your numbers into this formula, where turn rate setting is your sliders in tarkov. This matters if you want a higher mouse DPI than turning DPI in raid. If you know your usual turn speed DPI from other games then replace this number with that.
(x = mouseDPI * currentTurnRateSettingsInTarkov) where we solve for X
Ex: (x = 750 * 0.7) This results in x = 525 for my desired turn speed DPI.
Step two is what you will do to compensate for tarkovs gear turn rates and your desired lower or higher turning DPI relitive to mouse DPI. trueDPI being the number from above, mouse DPI being your actual DPI on your mouse, and then sumOfGearTurnRateModifiers is the sum of all turn rate multipliers, ex: 5%+5%+20% = 30 for this. once again solve for X and we will then get a number to set our slider to in order to remove the turn rate from gear, or set the turn rate different than your cursor speed, in a precise manor.
trueDPI = (mouseDPI – sumOfGearTurnRateModifiers%) * x
I fully expect some cant do this math in their head, so an easy tool to use is wolfram alpha.
I will also take a moment plug the Tarkov Compendium, a spreadsheet myself and a friend made. The page linked is an intro page, a crashcourse in how to use google docs spreadsheets.
