Always wanted to play a Dota tournament with all your favorite Dutch and Belgian buddy’s? Well today might just be your lucky day as we opened registration for the 7th season of the Benedota League!
The Benedota League is a weekly league for teams with a majority of players residing in the Bene region. While you can officially have a roster of 8 players so you have people available to play every week, only 2 of these can be from outside the Bene region (Belgium or The Netherlands). This is to ensure majority Bene teams during every match. While by default all games are scheduled on Sunday nights at 20:00 CET, you are encouraged to schedule a time in the week that works out best for both teams.
Tournament Format
The teams are split into separate divisions. The divisions are seeded on MMR and, if possible, results from previous seasons.
The structure of the tournament is split over 2 stages. The first is a swiss-format-like group stage with 6 teams, followed by a double elimination bracket playoff. The top 4 in the group stage will place in the upper bracket of the playoffs.The bottom 2 in the group stage will place in the lower bracket of the playoffs.
Each team will play 1 game each week, unless special circumstances can cause the need for two teams in the division to play an extra game in that week.
Prizes
While we are not able to offer any prizes this year, we have arranged another special surprise. Since the finals of the top division of the tournament will be played in a LAN environment on the 22th of April. This will be at Dynamo in Eindhoven during their Esports Festival.
