Mistakes were made, lessons were learned

Don't be harsh guys, I'm a noob 🙂

Today I learned that going to another system to buy a power plant to your newly outfitted diamondback explorer means that when you "launch" your thrusters are inactive and you don't have a re-dock button, I guess. I panicked.

For the build I copied, I had to remove the optionals for supercruise and docking, so I was already not happy about flying manually, but it was just one jump, what could go wrong? So there I was, with a timer to leave station and no idea what to do. After a while I remembered the time an npc took out my thrusters and I had to learn to reboot to get them back online. That didn't work, but it was a starting point, right?

So I looked at my modules and there it was, my thrusters were inactive-red… I tried turning it on, but it didn't work, obviously, then I tried changing its priority and still nothing and my timer was running out. I even googled "elite dangerous cancel ship launch" and couldn't find anything and the station gave me a warning that they were going to destroy me! Then, finally, my brain had an idea, so I went back to modules and deactivated my shield generator. Finally I had power on my thrusters! I accelerated as quickly as I could (respecting the 100 m/s speed limit I heard exists in stations) to get out of my would-be coffin and I was able to reach my destination and get myself a better power plant.

New pilots out there, don't be like me. Pay attention to your ship's power needs. Also, don't forget to have enough credits for your rebuy!
