So…I started the journey to Colonia from the bubble a couple of days ago, and I was lamenting the ~500 jumps to get to the furthest point I could plot to in game (not even Colonia itself, but an S class star, about 3kLy from it).
I also started to wonder whether I would want to do all this in reverse, and why the in game plotter wasn't giving me many neutron stars to boost off (spoilers: I wasn't far enough below the galactic plane).
Whilst doing some digging on whether the suicidewinder would be a viable option (which i'm still not sure about given I'm in my Phantom –
This made me realise that I have quite a simple solution…and it doesn't involve spending money…
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
– Computer running Windows (unsure if there's a variation for apple users)
– Android phone
– Xbox (of course)
– Apps
– "Your Phone" for the computer running windows (find it in the app store) and follow the setup
instructions for both the computer and phone
– the Xbox app on the android phone (google play store).
You'll need to link the Xbox app to the console you intend to play on. You'll also need to allow the "Cross device copy and paste" feature in the "Your Phone" app on the computer (it's under the "features" tab in the app's settings).
What all this will allow you to now do is to use the computer to find the route you want in spansh, then just use the "copy" buttons for each stop on the route.
This will copy that system name to the global clipboard of both your computer and phone, which you can then make use of in the Xbox app by using the "remote control" function of the app when it's connected to your console.
Then it's just a case of going into the galaxy map's search section, tapping the keyboard image on the bottom of the phone's screen, pasting the name into that part, pressing done on the phone keyboard, and it'll appear on the Xbox's text field after a second or two, and you can plot as normal from there.
I do hope this helps. I don't know if someone else has posted this solution before, but if they have, good job to them.
I do apologise if it's not too clear about the process. I tried to explain it as best as I could. Let me know if I can help further.
