Hi all, so I’ve upgraded from a 1080ti ROG Strix to the Ventus 3090 and thought I’d do some benchmarks on some games I play, like Escape From Tarkov. I played games offline and also while streaming to see the impact on performance. I wanted to get this done before my 3090 FE turns up next week so I can bench mark that too.
For Tarkov I did 3 of each map and averaged the scores, it’s a very hard game to replicate the exact settings in each game but I tried my best.
The resolution for all my tests were 2560×1440.
My system specs i7700k OCed to 4.9, Viewsonic Elite XG270QC, GPU with a Ventus 3090. Super Flower 750w Gold PSU, with 16GB DDR4 RAM 3000MHz
SLOBS settings settings Encoder; NVENC(New), Bitrate 8,000, Keyframe interval 2, Preset Max Quality, Profile High, Psycho Visual Tuning.
Tarkov Settings;
Below are the average FPS for each, I actually got worse frames with the 3090 on one of the maps, even after rebooting etc, one thing I did notice that on that map over 12GB of VRam was used. For the benchmark software including SOTR I had G-Sync off, my monitors refresh rate is 165.
Review;
I’ve not touched any clocks or anything as I’m selling this card for cost to someone, but the highest I saw it boost was 1,950 without touching it. I streamed for around 6 hours today with no crashes or coil whine. When playing well optimised games they look beautiful and smooth. I'm waiting to find out what AMD are doing with Zen 3 and may hold off until Intel give us more info about the 11th gen chip. My pc is running slow and has been recently so I may give it a format after I've done the next round of tests to see if that increases anything. I will be making a video soon with all of this including min/max/1% frames etc.
Closing thoughts;
£1,400 for 2 average frames in Fall Guys, so worth.
