So I was running around one woods with one of my first "Big" loadouts. i had an RPK with hammer scope, 95 drum, and a suppressor. level 4 black Ulach helmet, and a level 4 armored rig. (I don't remember the name of it, but I can't find it on the market. it had 2 single slots on the left, 3 1×3 slots then 2 more single slots. as well as a 2×2 underneath that.)
Point being I was doing some tasks and already taken down 2 pmcs and a handful of scavs. making my way to exfil when a bush camper shot me. his first shot hit me in the armored rig and did basically nothing, he missed a couple more and by the time I found his bush, He shot me in the head and I died instantly. I was frustrated yeah, but I said oh well he must've shot me in the face. but looking at the after action report it said head, top of head….now I am new.. but isn't that my helmet? shouldn't 7.62×39 PS not pen my helmet on its first hit? especially cause my rig is level 4 and when he hit me there it literally did 0 damage. I know there is something about fragmentation chance or whatever, but I don't know what that means. If anyone could shed light on how it's possible I'd love to learn more about it! 😀
