a founders take on the current game

i’ve never understood why epic games just decided to essentially abandon STW, it genuinely doesn’t make much sense. surely one of the main reasons why they would stop updating it is because it doesn’t generate much revenue. but the reason why it doesn’t, is because there isn’t much reason to play it. they stopped giving it frequent updates, there’s an incredibly limited amount of rewards you can get from STW and use in BR (excluding banners), and the storyline stopped very suddenly. please do comment and correct me if i’m wrong about something here too, because i’m literally just giving my opinion on the game’s state.

surely if they were to give STW a reason to be played/finish the storyline in twine, more people would want to play it. and more people playing it means that more money comes from STW. also, from a recent archer tweet, STW isn’t in next month’s crew pack, which means that there isn’t a way to even access STW, if you wanted to (of course, through epic games affiliated ways).
also, they removed the ability for vbucks to be used whatsoever in STW which surely means, that for some people, there’s no reason at all to purchase vbucks now, which does cut out some of their revenue.

all of my points so far have been about fortnite’s income, as i’m assuming that it’s the reason they basically gave up on STW. if that’s not the reason they gave up on it, i don’t see why they should have. it was a perfectly functional game, and then when they started caring less, it just went downhill. i mean if you really think about it, what if we had just two weeks/a month of solid STW development and bug fixing. if they can do what they do in BR, why can’t we have just a little bit of development in the reason the whole game came to be.

there really are so many things that they could do with STW and make it an actual good game and satisfy the playerbase , but they don’t, which just confuses me. idk anyway, that’s just my take on the game
