A Tale of an Unfortunate Death.

Valheim Guide: How to Acquire Strongest Weapon in the Game

So after my entire inventory of items failed to reappear after grave retrieval, I have been working on rebuilding all my iron gear.

I killed the elder again, retrieved all my backup gear, collected a few more resources, gathered some wood, picked a new swamp to begin filling the longboat with iron.

I prepared a spot right on the edge of the swamp on a flat piece of black forest and start building. I get focused on the build and my food runs out. I dont realise as I start to build into the night, I have a couple of walls up and I'm about to place bed and portal. Then WHACK!! A Draugr bowman nails me through the door. I stagger back and barely have time to react before he kills me.

But that was fine, I could recover from that one quickly. Little did I know I was in for a far more difficult time.

It just so happened my spawn was still set at my elder outpost and there was a raft of shame still there from a long time ago, perfect. I jump on and start making my way across to the island of my grave. The wind picks up and before long my raft is being hammered against high seas. It takes a few hits but holds together.

The waves finally settle and my island is in sight and the shore draws nearer. Night is falling again and I have a short tome to get ashore and retrieve my life before darkness arrives. But I get spotted by greylings! A stone hits me and I manage to jump back on the raft, another stone hits me as I back away as fast as possible. The next stone hits the raft. They follow me out to sea and I just manage to get away. I have 6 hp and no food. They finally stop following me and I hold fast for the night. When day breaks, I can finally retrieve my belongings.

I make it through the night, still on 6 hp. it's dawn and I can move to the shore. I set course and trim the sail. The raft slowly budges off. I and see my grave sparkling in the far distance. Finally.

Then a puffer fish flies across the deck and kills me.
